Erin Andrews Reveals How She Comforted Travis Kelce After Super Bowl Loss

“They’re humans too, you know, this just in,” the sports commentator said

Erin Andrews was supportive of Travis Kelce following his Super Bowl LIX loss.

During the Tuesday, Feb. 11 episode of her Calm Down with Erin and Charissa podcast, the 46-year-old sports commentator revealed how she was there for Kelce, 35, after the Kansas City Chiefs’ crushing 40-22 2025 Super Bowl loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on Feb. 9.

Andrews told her podcast co-host, Fox Sports commentator Charissa Thompson, 42, that she had a run-in with the Chiefs tight end just moments after he exited the locker room once the game ended.

“The shot that they have of him coming out of the locker room, and now we know he was going up to the suite … I was actually coming off the field and he was just walking out,” Andrews said.

Though the moment wasn’t a celebratory one, she felt she had to say something that would hopefully lift his spirits.

“And I was like f— it, and I just turned around and I walked up to him. I was like ‘I don’t want to bug him’ but I was like, ‘No, that’s our friend and this really sucks,’ ” she continued.

Andrews explained that she “just walked up to him and he stopped, and I gave him a big hug and I was just like, ‘I’m so sorry, I love you, I’m so sorry.’ ”

“They’re humans too, you know, this just in,” she said.

The Kansas City Chiefs failed to make the historic three-peat they were aiming for, and it wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the team managed to score in the double digits, thanks to a touchdown from DeAndre Hopkins that brought them to 14-40.

Kelce opted out of post-game Super Bowl pressers, but Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke confidently about his teammate.

“I’ll let Travis make that decision on his own,” Mahomes, 29, said when asked if retirement could be in the cards for the tight end.

“He’s given so much to this team and the NFL and been such a joy, not only for me to work with, but for people to watch, and he knows he still has a lot of football left in him and you can see it.”

Mahomes added, “I know he still has a love for the game and he’ll get to spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own.”

Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was rooting for him at the big game. Afterwards, the NFL star went straight to her suite.

The pair had a private dinner with friends ahead of the Super Bowl and sources tell PEOPLE the couple is looking forward to having some time off together now that the pop star, also 35, is done with her Eras tour and Kelce’s NFL season is finished.

“Their lives have been a whirlwind since they first started dating,” the insider said. “Things seem great between them, and they’re incredibly happy together.”
